Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family often relied on the free delivery of food from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who would drink sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in a Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of courses her freshman year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
