Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that covered 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and also a housekeeper. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran's early years. At times, her family relied upon deliveries of free food from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with condescension and disrespect, especially when having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. Later, she discovered she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her first year of high school.
